Wild flowers and a sentimental journey
This trinket box has been created using a fine butt walnut veneer with boxwood stringing to the edge.
The design is inspired by favourite wild flowers gracefully curving around the edge of the box, all created in micro-marquetry™. A technique which arranges over 100 pieces of timber per inch in such a way that the result is an astonishing picture.
The interior lid of the box celebrates a sentimental memory of a journey to Humberstone Church in Yorkshire to view Robert Thompson's furniture. Hidden amongst the leaves is a Mouseman mouse.
The interior of the box is lined with fine suede in the colour of ‘vision’, whilst the timber of the box is traditionally hand French polished to a silky smooth aromatic beeswax finish.
