Ceremonial Cross Stand
This ceremonial cross stand belonging to St Mary’s, in Nether Alderley, Cheshire, was funded through a legacy donation and as well as providing a fitting memorial to a much-loved husband it has proved to be a fantastic addition to the C14th parish church. This highly original piece created in walnut, features four columns each of which represents one of the four elements: earth, water, wind and fire. Each column is hand carved at the base and features marquetry work towards the apex. The magnificent silver cross is supported by a walnut split ring.
