Big Birthday
A memory box created out of figured walnut and burr walnut within the inside lid. This beautiful memory box was commissioned to celebrate a big birthday. The exterior lid is decorated with a marquetry monogram entwined with wild red poppies.
Within the inside lid we find a golden Labrador which is their family dog, a chocolate brownie to depict her love of chocolate and a golden chain which features the initials of her children's names upon a disc. The girder featured is a reminder of the times working in the steel industry.
The box is traditionally hand French polished to a silky smooth aromatic beeswax finish. The underside is upholstered in black leather and fitted with the Wheathills lady lozenge which includes the year the box was created.
