It's a Dog's Life
A Memory Box commissioned to celebrate a special birthday, created in burr walnut with birdseye maple banding, strung to the edge and linework of boxwood. The rear of the box is fitted with a secret key drawer.
The aim of the design was to evoke wonderful memories of their two dogs, this is created by depicting a scene of them at their happiest by the sea and in the dunes on the east coast.
Within the box is a tray with four quadrants and a central box with a tilting lid which conceals a special sentiment. The inner edge corners of the box have Art Deco inspired fans. The interior is upholstered in fine scarlet suede. The memory box is traditionally hand French polished to a silky smooth aromatic beeswax finish. The underside is upholstered in black leather and fitted with the Wheathills lady lozenge which includes the year the box was created.
