Dragonflies and Adventure
A beautiful wedding memory box created in burr walnut, banded to the edge in ziricote with natural, black, natural sycamore line work which divides the two main timbers.
The top is decorated with a marquetry monogram ‘D and S’ which is made from tulipwood and sycamore, which is entwined with orange blossom for marriage and fruitfulness, together with a shamrock for true love and a dragonfly hints to what can be found inside and the beginnings of the bride and grooms story together.
The front is fitted with a lock and handmade silver gilt Georgian bow key. Inside the lid which is supported with precision made silver gilt hinges is a walnut removable tray with a central special things box having a tilting lid.
Below the tray is an open space adequate to keep safe A4 documents. All is upholstered in fine suede and the timber is traditionally hand French polished to a silky smooth beeswax finish.
