Walnut Console Table
Created in D form the table top is veneered in flame walnut, banded to the edge in camphor and strung in ebony. Placed in centre of the back is a semi-circle of marquetry depicting sailing adventures in tropical seas and a quintessentially English game of cricket. The top is shaped to the coin front legs which are turned and tapered and are jointed to either side with a quadrant concealed drawer, flanking a central drawer decorated with marquetry depicting a love of music, literature, gardening and travel. The table is very shallow, narrow and tall giving elegant proportions. All is traditionally hand French polished to a silky smooth beeswax finish.
